As a postgraduate in history, years spent reading, writing and exploring the past have blurred the lines between observer and subject. It no longer feels external- but immersive. History is often dismissed as a dull procession of dates and events but to me it felt like art in motion- civilisations breathing and distant worlds coming to life.
I loved reading fiction but soon history took it's place - offering worlds that felt imaginatively fictional yet being the most uncompromisingly non fictional of all.

Between the fiction and a devotion to the past this blog found it's place - as a space to share the love for history with all.
